Big Bend RHIO renews contract with Innovations, LLC [Avocare] as central vendor for Health Information Exchange technology
October 2006 - Tallahassee, FL - The Big Bend Regional Healthcare Information Organization (RHIO) has contracted with Innovations [Avocare] for a second year to continue development and maintenance of the Regional Health Information Network (RHIN) developed under previous 05-06 fiscal year contract.
Under the new contract Innovations [Avocare] will be advancing the RHIN Web Portal and backend Regional Master Patient Index and Record Locator Services software as well as interfacing with a minimum of four additional healthcare providers' EMR systems. These area healthcare providers include Vascular Surgery Associates (Cerner EMR), Radiology Associates of Tallahassee (GE EMR), Capital Health Plan (NextGen EMR), and KWB Pathology Associates.
Innovations [Avocare] will also implement a community-integrated Personal Health Record (PHR). The PHR Web Portal will allow patients to pre-populate and maintain their demographics, medical history, allergies, problems and medications via a secure browser interface which may then be printed or electronically downloaded to an established standardized patient intake/registration form by community healthcare providers.
Additionally Innovations [Avocare] will be implementing secure messaging and electric referrals to allow for the secure transfer of provider-to-provider and patient-to-provider communication. With the credentialing and secure logins of the RHIN Web Portal for clinicians and the PHR Web Portal for patients, secure messaging is the natural progression of healthcare services which should provide value to the community and improve healthcare.
